It has been very gratifying to hear that people want Linda and I as the team to best lead this Union in the coming year. The overwhelming support that we have been receiving is greatly appreciated and be assured that we will do everything possible to best represent your needs and concerns. We have always advocated for the member’s best interests at Lobbying Days in Albany, at Legislative meetings, as Officers elected by our units’ members, and as fellow colleagues, regardless of title and position.
The ballots were mailed Friday and a lot of you have expressed your commitment and support to vote for us in spite of information that we don’t have a full slate, or by voting for us you will be “splitting the vote”. Our philosophy is simply,
“How can we expect to unite 8,000 members if we can’t unite and work with 8 members of an Executive Board?” We sincerely feel and believe that most of the other people running for office care about the membership, and therefore, do not see a problem with being able to work with them for the benefit of all of us. As long as all candidates truly have the members' best interests at heart, as Linda and I have demonstrated, how could there be any problem in working together?
You should also be assured that a vote for us is a vote for us, and not anyone else.
We would like to take this opportunity to apologize and send our regrets to all the members we have been unable to meet with. We have
really tried to arrange to meet with every single member and despite our best efforts have unfortunately been unable to do so. We would like you to please feel free to continue communicating with us by e-mail (
johnjsarno@yahoo.com) with all your questions and concerns.
The direction this union takes in the next three years is in your hands. We encourage you to vote for the people who best represent your concerns. And again,
WE APPRECIATE YOUR VOTE.Please check back with us at
